Summary

The Area Manager directs the activities of the Department, including salary supervisors. He/she ensures production schedules, quality standards, and on time delivery schedules are safely met. This position assists in the hiring process, training, succession planning and workforce planning. An organized, self-motivated, problem solver that utilizes a strong work ethic for a 325+ union facility in Chilton, WI is required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages performance evaluations, interaction and disciplinary process
  • Manages staffing and scheduling (including overtime and vacation)
  • Assists teams (including maintenance and engineering) with continuous improvement initiatives (driving safety, quality and process efficiencies)
  • Manages goal setting, tracking and communication
  • Identifies training needs and coordinates cross-training opportunities
  • Acts as facilitator between operations support teams and other departments
  • Assists quality and technical services in resolving quality issues - customer claims, corrective action as assigned by technical services and quality department
  • Participates in safety meetings, investigations and audit reporting
  • Manages reporting verification - daily production, daily maintenance downtime – report root cause analysis, daily call off, and safety audits
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and in accordance to legal, ethical and contractual practices

Desired Experience

  • Highly skilled in Microsoft Office, specifically PowerPoint and Excel
  • Technical knowledge with the ability to communicate with operators, engineers and maintenance
  • Ability to delegate and promote team growth
  • Excellent analytical, leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter that is adept at taking initiative
  • Open minded problem solver willing to experiment with new approaches
  • Must be able to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Minimum of 4 years in a leadership or management roll
