What's the position?

 

Worthington Industries is looking for a highly motivated and team oriented individual with excellent communication skills to intern with our Engineering department and assist with a variety of engineering projects.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Cost standards
  • Provide support for Engineering team members
  • Help design and implement changes to help make systems more efficient
  • Work with assigned team members to complete projects effectively and on time
  • Suggest and recommend better ways of improving the quality of work in systems
  • Tool design / development
  • Reverse engineering
  • Fixture and machine design
  • Plant layout drawings
  • Project management
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Assist others as needed
  • Maintain a clean work area 
  • Complete paperwork as required
  • Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and in accordance to legal, ethical and contractual practices
  • Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor

Desired Experience

  • Actively enrolled and pursing an engineering degree at an accredited college or university with first year completed
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Solid Works
  • Internet Research Sills (component research, selection and purchasing)
  • Experience in a production or manufacturing environment preferred

Education

Associates or equivalent in Engineering General
