Summary

In this newly created role, our Maintenance Supervisor works in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and other members of the maintenance department to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met with little downtime through preventative and multi-craft maintenance. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical knowledge. A detailed orientated, self-motivated, problem solver that utilizes a strong work ethic for a 350+ union facility in Chilton, WI is required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost standards
  • Provide leadership and direction to Maintenance personnel
  • Schedule contractors
  • Schedule/plan maintenance work including PMs and work orders
  • Coach and develop employees
  • Complete performance evaluations on direct reports
  • Service Vendor relationship management, including verifying insurance requirements, contract negotiation, etc.
  • Order parts needed for PMs, repairs, etc.
  • Interview potential new employees
  • Trouble shoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Inspect finished product for completeness and conformance to all quality assurance procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects throughout the facility including various automation projects
  • Ensure company policies and procedures are followed
  • Provide positive feedback and opportunities for improvement to employees
  • Participate in Lean Transformation efforts including GEMBA walks
  • Assist others as needed
  • Complete paperwork as required
  • Other duties as assigned by manager 
  • Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and in accordance to legal, ethical and contractual practices

Desired Experience

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • 2+ years experience scheduling in a maintenance environment with 4 or more team members
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D

  • Capability to read and interpret prints, work order instructions; weld symbols, and operate required tools in order to help train, coach and mentor employees.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine repair
  • Possess good problem solving skills, computer skills, and safety practices
  • Experience with Servo Motors and Allen Bradley PLC
  • Must have a firm understanding of volts and amps and be able to adjust accordingly
  • Customer focused with the ability to function with a high sense of urgency
  • Confidence to make decisions and a strong commitment to team success

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation, project and organizational skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to all levels of the organization

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
