Maintenance Supervisor 1

In this newly created role, our Maintenance Supervisor works in conjunction with the Maintenance Manager and other members of the maintenance department to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met with little downtime through preventative and multi-craft maintenance. This position requires strong electrical and mechanical knowledge. A detailed orientated, self-motivated, problem solver that utilizes a strong work ethic for a 350+ union facility in Chilton, WI is required.

  • Perform all duties in a safe manner
  • Work in a team environment focusing on meeting Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost standards
  • Provide leadership and direction to Maintenance personnel
  • Schedule/plan maintenance work including PMs and work orders
  • Service Vendor relationship management, including verifying insurance requirements, contract negotiation, etc.
  • Order parts needed for PMs, repairs, etc.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
  • Inspect finished product for completeness and conformance to all quality assurance procedures
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects throughout the facility including various automation projects
  • Provide positive feedback and opportunities for improvement to employees
  • Complete paperwork as required
  • Other duties as assigned by manager 
  • Perform all duties in the spirit of Our Philosophy and in accordance to legal, ethical and contractual practices

Desired Experience

  • Maintenance experience within manufacturing 
  • Leadership and supervisory experience
  • Ability to measure, read, write and document work
  • Strong basic math skills and basic financial understanding
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to establish working relationships quickly
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to drive resolution
  • Knowledge of safety protocol such a lock out tag out, confined space and haz-com
  • Commitment to personal integrity and integrity of the product(s) and processes
  • Capability to read and interpret prints, work order instructions; weld symbols, and operate required tools in order to help train, coach and mentor employees.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine repair
  • Possess good problem solving skills, computer skills, and safety practices
  • Experience with Servo Motors and Allen Bradley PLC
  • Must have a firm understanding of volts and amps and be able to adjust accordingly
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a professional manner via formal written and oral means to all levels of the organization

Machines, Tools, Equipment & Software Used

  • Personal protective equipment including: welding shield, ear plugs, gloves, repirator, safety glasses, steel toe boots and safety vest.
  • Tools include but not limited to: thermal imager, volt meter, pwer quality meter, air tools, claimps, grinders, sanders, ladder, tape measure and fire extinguishers
  • Machines include but not limited to: air compressor, break and shear, cnc roll, forklift, chop saw, drill press, and overhead crane
  • Microsoft Office Programs (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook)


High School Diploma or equivalent
