Quality Manager

Summary

The Quality Manager oversees inspection and quality control activities, including incoming and in-process inspection, sampling, vendor and final testing and inspection of finished products to meet specification and quality standards. Responsibilities of the Manager include but are not limited to being an integral part of supplier selection process; managing the resolution of in-house manufacturing quality issues; working with sales team to resolve customer quality issues; and creating SOPs for quality system process. The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure that divisional quality benchmarks are met or exceeded. This position is located in Chilton, WI.

Responsibilities
    • Drives process quality improvements in rework and scrap reduction.
    • Champions, coordinates and benchmarks, continuous improvement efforts in the areas of process and quality control.
    • Interacts with operators, production supervisors and the engineering/maintenance departments to determine and resolve quality related problems.
    • Plans and directs the work activities for employees within the quality function.
    • Assumes ownership of the Customer Quality Complaint (CQC) and corrective action process for customer quality.
    • Manages DOT compliance, record keeping and storage and provides required customer certification.
    • Suggests changes in procedures, standards, test equipment and gauges to facilitate work and maintain quality.
    • Processes data collection for standards and benchmarking.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Must be knowledgeable in audit process and able to make changes as necessary
    • Travel 5% when required for supplier, customer or company needs
    • Good communication (verbal and written) and problem solving skills
    • Analysis, critical thinking and investigation skills
    • Adept at building trusting relationships 
    • Five (5) years of related quality experience   
Education
Bachelors in Quality Engineering or equivalent
