Position Summary:

Develops marketing communications strategy and directs execution of programs for Worthington’s alternative fuels product line. 

Responsible for generating strategies that grow market share and brand reputation, improve customer experience and drive business growth. Manages brand architecture, directs marketing communications strategy and execution, and collaborates on new product development.

 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Brand Management: Build and manage an authentic and engaging brand that connects with all customers. Support business growth aspirations through development and maintenance of a brand architecture that enables deep relationships with existing consumers, attract new consumers, and enable the brand to expand per business strategy. 
  • New Product Development: Collaborate with a dedicated cross-functional product development team to develop and launch new products to market.
  • Integrated Marketing Communications Strategy and Implementation: Manage the development and implementation of annual integrated marketing communications plans, encompassing product launch campaigns, public relations, advertising, digital marketing, social media, content development, issues management, search engine optimization/search engine marketing, special events, community relations and employee communications, in order to increase brand awareness and sales. 
  • Agency Management: Select, manage and develop marketing agency partners – drive focus and execution and foster a culture of collaboration, performance and growth. 
  • Manage brand management and marketing budget.

 

Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Strong customer/ client service orientation and belief in the Worthington Industries' Philosophy
  • Experience developing and executing brand management principles, including brand architecture, positioning & overall campaign development.
  • Experience creating and executing consumer and channel/ trade marketing campaigns 
  • Overall understanding of creative development of all media (owned, earned, paid, sales/ trade support, etc).
  • Uses voice of customer research to make creative, data-driven and applicable recommendations and decisions 
  • Strong and versatile communication and interpersonal skills, adaptable to multiple audiences
  • Ability to participate in and coordinate a diverse group of individuals including sales team, engineers, operations/ production, designers, printers, copywriters, strategists, researchers, marketing agencies, etc.
  • Software proficiencies: Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of web content management systems, graphic design and/or social media admin tools a plus.

Education/Training Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum five years of product marketing experience in a communications-focused position
  • Experience managing projects with cross-functional groups 
  • Experience contributing positively in a team environment
  • Relevant experience in alternative fuels or energy-related field a plus
