Summary

The Worthington Industries Rotation Experience & Development (WIRED) Program candidate will participate in a rotational program in which they will be responsible for developing knowledge and business skills in the manufacturing industry, while building strong relationships during each rotational assessment. The WIRED program is to provide the knowledge and resources to accelerate the learning curve at Worthington Industries. The Business Analyst works closely with several individuals at each rotation to ensure development goals are met. Strong emphasis will be placed on the ability to grow deep knowledge of the functional area. The analyst will be exposed to many facets of the business including on-site work in specified rotations. The career path will vary widely depending on interest, career alignment, and overall business need.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to manufacturing facilities
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead implementation of solution
  • Identify and reduce non-value added work in the production process
  • Support and/or lead teams focused on new process implementation,  product improvement, safety and quality improvements
  • Utilize quality tools to improve manufacturing consistency
  • Support and/or lead, capital project activities; including development of project scope, objectives and milestones. Lead execution and provide regular communication of project status to all stakeholders
  • Troubleshoots process and equipment issues and provide support to operations and maintenance departments.
  • Support design & development of new products through the New Product Development process

  • Fundamental knowledge of machine design and operating principles

  • Proficient with MS Office (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, etc)
  • Working knowledge of computer-based design and drawing software (ACAD, SolidWorks)
  • Strong analytical skills

Education/Travel Required

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent work experience in a technical field (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, Systems or Welding Engineering)
    • Co-op experience preferred, Internship or other experience in manufacturing environment
  • 3.0 GPA or above preferred
  • Community and/or collegiate involvement
  • Geographically flexible; willing to relocate for rotational assignments and final placement
