As a Corporate Financial Reporting Accountant with Worthington Industries, you will be responsible for internal and external financial reporting, including SEC filings and annual report, GAAP & SEC research, compliance and implementation.  You will work with department heads, business units and management to identify and resolve technical accounting issues.  This position will gain exposure to various areas in the business and levels of management. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated, independent, self-starter.


- Assist with annual audit and quarterly review activities and filings

- Support month end and quarter end closing process including, but not limited to, preparing certain journal entries, rollforwards, and reconciliations

- Assist with monthly/quarterly derivative effectiveness documentation and testing

- Ensure compliance with internal control requirements

- Manage audits and 11-K filings for employee benefit plans

- Track and implement new accounting regulations/rules and assure compliance
- Establish department policies/procedures and prepare/maintain appropriate documentation

- Suggest and implement improvements to financial reporting system and processes
- Assist on special projects

- Supervise intern(s)

Desired Experience

- BS in Accounting or Finance required;  CPA or CMA designation is a plus.

- A minimum of 2 years of accounting/finance experience.

- Experience with MS-Office suite.
- Familiarity with Oracle/ Tagetik applications is a plus.
- Excellent organizational, problem solving, communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
