Summary

Worthington Industries is currently recruiting a Nurse Manager (RN) to join our Primary Care team!  At the Worthington Industries Medical and Wellness Center, our focus is on providing our employees and their families with comprehensive care.  We treat the whole family; from newborns through retirees.

 

The Nurse Manager will lead a team of nurses and medical assistants as well as plan, organize and develop the overall operations of the nursing services.  This position will have a variety of patient care situations to work with and will need to be creative, resourceful and a self-starter to ensure the highest degree of quality care is provided at all times. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervises medical assistants and nurses and works closely with the Administrator to ensure compliance and quality care.
  • Obtains feedback from physicians in the written development plans and annual performance review process for nursing staff.
  • Schedules clinical staffing coverage of Medical Center, including activities such as Blood draws, First Responder classes, Blood pressure clinics, flu shot clinics and health fairs.
  • Responsible for Breath Alcohol Training (BAT) for nurses.
  • Travels to and coordinates with nurses from other Worthington Industries Medical Clinics located in Wooster, Ohio and West Warwick, RI.
  • Manages the day-to-day operations of the department(s). 
  • Monitors, evaluates and justifies monthly budget expenditures and revenue.
  • Provides health screening, patient education and planning of treatments for primary care related illnesses, diseases and other infectious diseases. 
  • CPR Instructor – Teach First Responder Classes.
  • Work with our EH&S department in the coordination, scheduling and testing for their Annual OSHA mandatory Audiometric testing for our manufacturing sites.
  • Responsible for Evaluating OSHA Respiratory Questionnaires, sending certifications to EH&S managers, maintaining current files.
  • Partner with HR in the administration of Worthington Industries drug testing guidelines.  Also serve as a liaison with outside vendors who assist with current drug testing processes and procedures.
  • Develops departmental policies and procedures and participates in the review of other Medical Center policies and procedures as appropriate.
  • Promotes teamwork by building a team environment and fostering cross-functional collaboration.
  • Assists the doctor with procedures and tests.
  • Manages the clinic’s laboratory.
  • Participate and travel to health fairs.
  • Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.

  • Exceptional customer service, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal relationship skills required for interaction with contacts.
  • Strong knowledge of quality improvement methodology, leadership, and decision-making skills required.
  • Adept with computers and electronic records
  • Skill in promoting multidisciplinary collaboration; ability to act as a facilitator and change agent required.
  • Strong organizational skills required to evaluate existing policies/procedures/standards, and to develop and implement enhancements and/or new systems required.
  • Current RN Licensure required for Ohio
  • Maintains continuing education hours
  • Ability to travel 10% throughout the year
