Summary

Worthington Industries is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to assist the Pharmacist with data entry and prescription management. The successful candidate for this role will communicate with patients over the phone and in-store to address customer service issues and field questions about medications. Pharmacy Technicians are responsible for confirming patient information on prescription labels before disbursing medications. Additionally, our Pharmacy Technicians maintaining the supplies required for operation and maintaining the cleanliness in the pharmacy.   (Entry Level)

Responsibilities

  • Assists in accurately processing orders for medications and medical supplies.
  • Corresponds with patients regarding refills and shipping.
  • Enters prescriptions into the computer system.
  • Orders medications and over the counter items to maintain inventory
  • Maintains the cleanliness in the pharmacy by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Completes cash register reconciliation and deposits.
  • Maintains pharmacy inventory by checking pharmaceutical stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed medications and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt; removing outdated drugs. 
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Desired Experience

  • Basic knowledge of medical center protocol 
  • Basic knowledge of current Ohio and Federal pharmacy regulations
  • Advanced communication and math skills
  • Excellent prioritizing skills
  • Knowledge of MS Office and ability to operate the cash register
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Customer service focus
  • 1-3 years experience

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
