The Product Manager will act as the leader for all strategic and market activities relating to the specialty cylinder product portfolio within the US Low Pressure business segment.  Specifically, the Product Manager will be responsible for formulating and executing Worthington’s strategic plan and marketing activities related to their product portfolio in collaboration with the Business Director, Sales Director, New Product Director, Design Engineering, Supply Chain and Operations Management.

  • Voice of Customer: Identify new opportunities and prioritize customer needs within the Specialty Products portfolio.  Ensure customer and their needs remains a priority and needs are not compromised by Worthington's internal objectives
  • Relationships: Develop relationships by attending industry trade shows and traveling with WOR TMs that will allow for exchange of market knowledge and stay in tune with key factors and influences impacting specific industries
  • Marketing Analysis: Identify and track key market information to gain competitive advantage as well as potentially expanding into new markets and/or product segments
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with the Business Director, Sales, Supply Chain and Operations to establish annual and monthly S&OP plans
  • Strategic Planning:  Create strategy to “Win” for each key product / end market
  • Product Development: Identify, set direction, and prioritize future commercial and product-development efforts taking place within the product segment based on unmet customer needs. Direct new product/customer launch and assign appropriate stakeholders to be accountable for successful implementation.
  • Pricing: Use analytics and market knowledge to develop pricing strategy by product line to maximize profitability working with the Sales and Price Desk teams
  • Growth: Develop and test value propositions for existing and future opportunities that allow Worthington to grow market share while generating an acceptable return
  • Growth: Evaluate Worthington Cylinders’ processing capabilities and in coordination with the Director of Operations/Business Director develop business case for capital expenditures (Operations) or acquisitions (Business Director) to support Worthington’s goals and objectives
Desired Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University, or 7-10 years of related experience and/or training in marketing; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
