The Financial Analyst is responsible for oversight of the consolidation, reporting, analysis and forecasting activities within the Steel Processing division.  This position will gain exposure to various areas in the business and levels of management as you provide support to SG&A stakeholders with the data, insights and analysis to manage their departmental spend.  The ideal candidate is a critical thinker, independent, self-starter that displays the characteristics of an emerging leader and business partner.





Essential Duties:

•    Prepare/Review journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations in compliance with SOX 
•    Consolidate financial reporting data from multiple ERP systems/joint ventures and resolve differences
•    Develop an extensive understanding of the consolidation tool and act as the divisional subject matter expert
•    Prepare/Review period-end financial reporting and analysis for the Senior Leadership Team
•    Present interim forecasts and annual Plan, along with key assumptions, to Senior Leadership Team
•    Prepare SG&A departmental budgets and assist stakeholders with interpretation of financial data
•    Prepare/Review external reporting schedules at quarter-end and assist with audit requests
•    Design financial statements and management reporting tools within the consolidation system 
•    Provide functional guidance, training and prioritize tasks for entry level team members
•    Identify and implement process improvements with support of cross-functional resources
•    Assist in preparation of Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR) and post CAR completion review
•    Support the integration of acquisitions into the existing financial reporting environment
•    Provide ad-hoc data and analysis to various departments and teams within the organization

Desired Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field from an accredited university
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience in an accounting or analyst role
  • Intermediate understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Basic understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Standards (SOX)
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
