Sr. Project Engineer - Mechanical/ Elctrical

Summary

The Sr. Project Engineering role will be a corporate based role (hybrid model) with the responsibility to complete a broad range of moderately complex projects. Projects will include new equipment procurement and installation; facility upgrades; process improvements; equipment enhancements including new automation; and projects involving electrical systems, PLC, HMI, and safety circuit design upgrades. Electrical, control and mechanical projects may be stand-alone projects or portions of a larger project with the larger project being managed by others. Candidate will support multiple manufacturing facilities by participating in Transformation, Continuous Improvement, Cost Savings initiatives and activities. Additionally, this role will have interactions with the new product design & development (NPD) team, provide support to the inside and outside sales teams; and interact with QC, Regulatory, EH&S, Finance, as well as other functional groups.  **Excellent opportunity for growth. Responsibilities

Electro-Mechanical project management responsibilities: 

  • Develop project scope and objectives as well as budget and schedules for electrical, controls, mechanical, and automation projects in nature
  • Direct and support project team for electrical, controls, mechanical, and automation projects in nature
  • Identify and manage project risks and issues 
  • Communicate project status/metric/etc. to stakeholders and senior management 
  • Troubleshoot & provide support to other departments as necessary (Sales, Operations, QC, EH&S, Finance, etc.) 
  • Approximately 25%-30% travel - autonomous/ flexible travel 

Desired Experience


Technical:

  • Proficient in ability to design, build, and troubleshoot PLC software associated with facility production equipment
  • Manufacturing background with capital project experience is required 
  • Fundamental knowledge of machine design and operating principles 
  • Fundamental knowledge of machine repair and troubleshooting practices 
  • Fundamental knowledge and/or ability to quickly familiarize oneself with codes and standards
  • Fundamental knowledge and/or ability to quickly familiarize oneself with product and process design techniques 

Personal:

  • Strong interpersonal communication, problem solving, and organizational skills 
  • Self-motivated and sound decision making skills 
  • Independent contributor who can excel in a Team environment

Computer/Electrical Controls:

  • Proficient with computer-based 2D & 3D software (i.e., ACAD, SolidWorks) a plus
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) 
  • Proficient with Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens software for programming PLC’s and HMI’s (Studio5000, RSLogix500, Factorytalk View, Motion Analyzer, RSViewME, etc)  a plus
  • Support Smart Factory initiatives (Leading2Lean, Ignition, Tracking, Mobile, automation, & analytics) during IT rollouts & for on-going facility support a plus
