HR Business Partner

Summary

The HR Business Partner provides overall human resource and benefit administrative support to our Cleveland, Ohio facility. They are responsible for benefit administration, payroll, workers compensation, staffing, recruitment and general administration of human resource policies and practices and will actively analyze and recommend changes to moderately complex location practices, application of discipline, and ensures consistent application of HR laws, regulations and company policies. 

Responsibilities

  • Active steward of the WI Philosophy and driver of continued commitment to the principles of our organization such as safety.
  • Partner with business leaders to drive the development of Managers and employees in a variety of human resources areas including performance management, compensation, employee/team development, strategic human resources planning, employee relations, training, staffing and selection, HR policies and practices, organizational structure, culture, conflict resolution, talent management, and other issues that may impact the work environment.
  • Driver of employee performance management at all levels. Ensures quality evaluations are developed and communicated to employees in a timely fashion. Coach leadership and managers through the merit review process to ensure proper differentiation of strong performers.
  • Manages benefit administration including answering questions, completing and filing necessary forms, employee training, new hire orientation and exit process, open enrollment, etc.
  • Manages payroll administration including time, tax and wage entry, processing of payroll information, garnishments, etc.
  • Perform recruitment activities, interviews, and evaluates candidates for select positions. Aid in the development of new strategies and programs to attract candidates.
  • Provide guidance, coaching and direction for a variety of HR and employee related activities such as EEO, FMLA, salary plan and Open Door issues. Facilitate investigations and resolution of ongoing employee problems, complaints. Anticipate problems whenever possible and develop, recommend and initiate appropriate steps for resolution.
  • Manages and administers various programs and functions such as Employee Council, FMLA, health fairs, banquets, picnics, attendance and recognition awards, etc.
  • Processes HR/Payroll related changes, profit sharing review and submission, provides merit pay and proper job classification recommendations to managers.
  • Works with managers to audit skills/essential abilities and recommends development/training plans, performance management, and/or discipline to address skill or role deficiencies or opportunities.
  • Recommends and conducts basic employee training – leadership, sexual harassment, and other related HR training and documentation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • HR certification preferred (i.e., PHR, SPHR)
  • 3 years of HR/benefit/payroll administration experience

Education

Bachelors or equivalent in Human Resources or Other
