Summary

The Production Supervisor directs the activities of the manufacturing department and makes sure production schedules and quality standards are met.  This position is responsible for the safety and administration of company policies to all employees in the department.  The Supervisor assists in the hiring process for deparmtent as well as succession planning.  Key position results include but are not limited to, controlling of costs for department; maintaining of training records and performance evaluations for department; meeting the dpeartment's production schedules and quality standards; maintaining of department's safety record; and ensuring the deparment goals are met or exceeded.  The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical, problem-solver with the ability to prioritize and delegate tasks to ensure that daily production operations are running effectively and efficiently.  We are looking for a strong candidate with potential to advance beyond this role into positions such as Transformation Site Lead.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the production schedule and quality standards of the department
  • Oversees and ensures safety of team
  • Administers company policy
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and cost control of the group including scrap and rework improvements, controls cost of manufacturing process, prepares material and presents monthly meetings
  • Supervises employees including trains employees, updates records, writes and presents employee evaluations, assists in hiring for deparment, sets goals and track progress of deparment
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Strong leadership ability

  • Good communication (verbal and written) and problem solving skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office)
  • Basic financial understanding
  • Strong ability to prioritize/delegate
  • Analysis, critical thinking and investigation skills

  • Adept at building trusting relationships
  • Must be diplomatic
  • Self-starter that is adept at taking initiative

Desired Experience

  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience
  • Basic supervisory training

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent
