Shipping & Receiving role responsible for successful customer fulfillment and a World Class on time delivery rate (OTD). Duties include but not limited to; EDI administrative duties, custom labeling and packaging of product, loading and unloading of trucks, movement of storage trailers as needed.  Determines, coordinates and participates in activities of the Shipping & Receiving Department to achieve Customer fulfillment objectives agreed to in Customer Service Master Agreements. Candidate will be required to train and achieve a Forklift license, and Haz-Mat shipping certification. 


Key Position Results

Accurate routing of shipments and carrier selection.

On-Time performance customer delivery.

Accurate processing of shipping documents, receipts and hazmat documents.

Actively maintain a safe work environment.



Receiving:  Responsible for accurately receiving material into inventory and maintaining accurate inventory counts. Unload and store material in proper locations and perform receiving transactions. Issue material to plant wide personnel and accurately perform system transactions.  Transports product between plant, storage trailers and warehouse.  Other Duties as assigned by manager.

Shipping:  Set up orders & load trucks with products to meet delivery dates.  Breaking down full skids into less than truckload shipments. Perform daily shipping transactions for various computer applications, including EDI, bill of lading and custom labels. Route orders according to individual customer requirements.  Other duties as assigned by manager.

Communication & Coordination:  Communicate potential supply problems to Supervisor and purchasing. Communicate and coordinate with outside departments on shipping / receiving. The ability to communicate effectively with sales, scheduling, and production teams in order to plan shipping activities when needed and the ability to coordinate the pick-up and routing of freight with all applicable freight carriers as required by Customer Service agreements. Interfaces daily with divisional sales team to achieve Customer fulfillment and On time delivery success.

Physical: Must be capable of physical exertion such as long periods of standing, sitting, walking, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, and reaching.

Safety: Perform all duties in a safe manner.  Ability to work in a team environment focusing on meeting safety, quality, delivery and cost standards.  Maintain a clean and organized work area

Training:  Able to achieve company sponsored Forklift, Haz-Mat, DOT specific.

Active participant in company and plant safety program.

Knowledge and familiarity with plant-wide production, purchasing and maintenance activities to facilitate the appropriate stocking and issuing of MRO items

Excellent forklift/material handling skills

Must exhibit good math skills for verification of receipt quantities

Good problem solving skills

Ability to Plan, coordinate and communicate effectively with all departments

Knowledge of safe loading practices regarding blocking, bracing, and proper distribution of weight

Knowledgeable with all shipping related paperwork and associated system transactions that are required for daily activities.


High School Diploma or equivalent in Other

Associates or equivalent in Logistics
