The Engineering Project Manager – Capital Projects is responsible for shaping significant business cases and leading and executing high impact projects aligned with WAVE’s strategic and operating plans. This position is responsible for initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling and closure of Corporate Engineering, and operations-based process improvement projects to achieve safety, cost, schedule, and performance goals. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, as well as third-party contractors or consultants, in order to deliver projects according to plan.


This position will report to the Capital Project Engineering Manager, who is responsible for capital project prioritization and resource management, project management leadership, innovative technology migrations, and capital strategy.


  • Conduct preliminary investigations for all project requests: review requirements, specifications, test, support, and training plans to ensure they are aligned with objectives.
  • Be the technical lead on assigned projects as related to design, analysis and layouts of buildings, equipment, tooling, state regulations, federal regulations, manufacturing efficiency and managing contractors/vendors.
  • Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the execution of projects, directing resource availability and allocation.
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, engagement of all relevant internal stakeholders, and verification of technical feasibility.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate documentation.
  • Perform risk management to minimize potential risks and escalating as necessary.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation including, but not limited to spreadsheets, diagrams, and process maps.
  • Prepare project reports, cost estimates and schedules; apply project management principles to meet project deliverables of time, cost, and performance.
  • Travel to multiple sites to manage machinery, tooling and equipment installation, drive project execution and coordinate resources on site. Limited, project-based.   

Desired Experience

  • Required; 5+ years relevant experience in manufacturing environment, or similar.
  • Required; BS in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Required; 2+ years relevant experience in project management.
  • PMP certification preferred
