Summary:

Intermediate level accounting professional that supports and guides senior accounting staff with financial reporting and analysis, including the income statement, balance sheet, expense analysis, and other financial reporting.  In addition, the position will provide support and guidance in several of the following areas: monthly closing, general ledger maintenance, financial forecasting, accounts receivable, and other general accounting duties, as required.

 

Key Position Results

  • Accurate interpretation of information to calculate ledger entries related to assets, liabilities, sales, expenses, and other cash flow items, including inventory and fixed assets
  • Informed and well-reasoned analysis and reports
  • Assigned accounting responsibilities completed accurately, timely and in compliance with GAAP
  • Accounting and reporting (SOX) controls are in place and operating effectively
  • Opportunities for improvement are identified and prioritized
  • Routine work is independently managed and potential issues are escalated timely
  • Structured documentation of work processes and results is maintained
  • Financial reports and analysis are complete and informative

     

    Job Responsibilities

  • Creating, analyzing, and posting journal entries (both standard and non-standard) within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Performing analysis of balance sheets, income statements and cash flows
  • Performing account reconciliations
  • Ad Hoc reporting for Operations and Controllers
  • Works in cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, etc.) to implement system enhancements to improve processes and create efficiencies
  • SOX/audit support, as needed
  • Other responsibilities, as needed

     

    Experience & Education

  • Bachelors in Accounting/Finance or similar degree or equivalent experience
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Basic to intermediate understanding of Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance Standards (SOX)
  • 3+ Years of accounting/finance work experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Professional Certifications (CPA, CMA, MBA) a plus
