Summary

As a Quality Specialist at our Rome, NY facility, the primary function of this role is to improve the quality of products produced and shipped. This is done through designing, documenting and modifying quality processes, policies and procedures; supplier and customer claim investigation and corrective action; and data collection, analysis, statistical process controls, auditing and reporting. The Specialist drives scrap, reject and rework measures and increases overall productivity and quality as well as disposing of supplier and customer-rejected material in a timely and cost effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and perform internal audits
  • Support other internal auditors using QMS software Train users of functionality of QMS software Manage calibration of gages, instruments, and measuring devices Conduct gage repeatability and reproducibility studies Gather and investigate quality records of vendor and customer issues
  • Learn Lab Technician duties to become backup
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Knowledge of an ERP system - Oracle is a plus Knowledge of a QMS software- IQS Trubox is a plus Skills related to inspection and auditing
  • Math and statistics skills
  • Advanced computer skills - MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Analysis and problem solving skills
  • 3 years quality related experience preferred
  • Internal quality auditor - ASQ certification is a plus
  • Understanding of quality systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 - IATF 16949 is a plus

 

          

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree a plus
