Summary

Worthington Industries, Fortune 500 company with over 3.4 billion in revenue has a newly created Process Engineering role in one of their growing facilities at our Theodore, AL location. The facility has an excellent culture within a fantastic location (near the beach and low cost of living). Relocation assistance is available. The position will support our Cylinders business. The Process Engineer will  support a broad range of moderately complex projects (design, implementation, etc.). Projects could range from new equipment, procurement and installation; maintenance projects; equipment enhancement; new products; sales support, training support, etc.  Also troubleshoots current production equipment/processes for maximum quality throughput.  Generates cost savings ideas throughout facility. Lean experience a plus. The company is strong on lean principles and has many continuous improvement projects underway.

Responsibilities
  • Successful implementation (on-time, on-budget) of capital/process improvement projects that increase EOI and plant safety
  • Monitor project cost and schedule and communicate to all stakeholders
  • Support development of Standard Operating Procedures for manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to plan and direct projects concerned with design, construction, and modification of machinery and equipment
  • Work with production supervisors and plant personnel through continuous improvement teams to generate the best solutions for change within our facility.
  • Assist in capital equipment rebuilding or replacement projects
  • Coordinate, manage and support new products from inception through launch
  • Coordinate and assist with new tooling initiatives
Desired Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a plus but not required if the person has relevant manufacturuing engineering experience within Industrial or process engineering with lean experience
  • Project management/ process improvement experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong MS Office skills. Experience utilizing Project management tools -familiar with MS Project, Gantt charts, PM theories
  • Exceptional organizational, problem solving and written/ oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skill
  • A minimum of 3 plus years of previous manufacturing engineering experience
  • 2+ years of CAD experience
Education
Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering General
