Assists in the development, training, evaluation, and work schedules of both seasonal and regular full-time employees within a given area. Provides support to the shift or department supervisor in achieving daily and monthly goals in safety, quality, accuracy and production. Responsible for expediting work orders through the manufacturing process, accurate production reporting and maximizing resources while reducing scrap/rework. Acts on the behalf of the supervisor, if absent. 


  • Attends the job during the scheduled work hours.
  • Monitor team members and enforce all Company policies and procedures.  Communicate issues with Supervisor.
  • Initiates discipline only, then reviews with supervisor for approval.
  • Coordinates and insures schedule is kept in designated area based on build schedule provided by production control. Confirms variations of schedule. Seeks approval of variation from supervisor.
  • Organizes lay out of area including tooling, fixtures, parts racks, and work areas to maximize productivity and floor space.
  • Coordinates manufactured and purchased parts, supplies, and completed products.
  • Monitors and verifies the quantity of all parts – manufactured and purchased – are established in area. Verifies proper parts are being used for designated work orders.
  • Maintains area productivity by monitoring time standards and communicating conflicts. 
  • Reviews process sheets and assures written work instructions are accurate and current.  Initiates document change requests when necessary.   
  • Reviews service reports related to designated product with all area team members Provides input to resolve outstanding service reports.
  • Trains area team members on designated job, job tooling, cost saving, and product improvement processes.
  • Engages in production when Lead Person responsibilities have been accomplished.
