The main function of a WIEC Weld Trainer is to maintain the numerous AWS Welder Certifications that are required for personnel to weld on our products. This is a technically challenging process that has a direct effect on WIEC legal liability concerning welding operations and contractual requirements with our Customers. These duties are required to be performed by an AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI). 

The next duty is to train new and existing Welders in the welding procedural and technique requirements to ensure the understanding and ability for Welders to create AWS D14 specification compliant welds, first on qualification test plates, then on typical WIEC weld joints. This is done through a mixture of classroom and practical training.


Next is to provide new Welders with information concerning WIEC operating procedures including safety, chain of command, product flow, weld inspection, and defect resolution.


Finally, there is a large mixture of tasks that revolve around continuous improvement, 8-step team involvement, problem resolution and community involvement.


Desired Experience

3 - 5 years of experience in operations environment with knowledge of weld prcess and technique.
