The primary role of the Paint Technician 2 is to assist with all aspects of the paint department from maintenance of equipment, trouble-shooting and repair of all mechanical and electrical systems through the paint process. The Technician also provides backup to certain responsibilities, conducts inventory counts and maintains hazardous waste and improvement activities. This role is also responsible for submitting expense reports and working with paint suppliers. A successful candidate is a detail oriented self-starter that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met.


  • Maintains Paint Equipment – includes scheduled PM maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
  • Conducts weekly paint inventory count
  • Town Runner
  • Accountable for all receipts and expense reports to be submitted through Oracle
  • Paint tech duties to monitory and maintain department technical support
  • Assist with booth maintenance as needed
  • Monitors control panels and make adjustments
  • Hazardous waste management
  • Maintains log of operations and records meter and gauge readings.
  • Attends and participates in Paint improvement activities
  • Performs daily, weekly and monthly maintenance duties.
  • Backup operator for burn-off oven.
  • Assists in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Work with paint area suppliers
  • Complete required taining
  • Caulk System
  • Schedule and complete preventive maintenance items through Megamation
  • Fabrication skills - shadow boards, shelving, racking, and other miscellaneous items
  • General Maintenance
  • Hanging and Paint OPIs
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • Ability to read and understand flow diagrams
  • Ability to read, interpret and follow documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form 
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to frequently bend and stoop
  • Must be able to stand for extended period of time and exert moderate to heavy physical effort with a minimum lifting requirement of up to 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to travel as needed via most efficient means
  • Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds
  • Must be available for work on any shift or shift rotation or work schedule as needed by the company
  • Mechanical aptitude helpful, knowledge of chemistry preferred. Training for permit-required spaces/hazmat/respirators required. 
  • Required OSHA safety training


High School Diploma or equivalent
