Summary

Part of Worthington' s Engineered Cabs business and based at our Watertown, SD plant, our  Production Manager will provide leadership and a safe work environment for all activities in a value stream, including operations, buying, planning, quality and process engineering, guided by the principles of the Worthington Philosophy.  This role increases the ratio of value-added to non-value added work and eliminates waste in the overall value stream for a defined product family, and ensures that the value stream meets customer requirements.

Responsibilities

Ensures that the value stream organization, (staffing, tooling, and machinery) is able to meet customer demand.

Works as a change agent to drive out waste in the manufacturing and supply chain organizations through the deployment of Lean methodology.

Creates a culture of continuous improvement by involving employees in waste identification and problem solving, as well as recognizing them for exceptional work. 

Develops operational and financial plan and forecasts for the value stream.

Ensures that inventory levels are right-sized to meet customer demand.

Desired Experience

A minimum of 3 years of experience in an operations environment (supply chain management, production, distribution management, production/distribution flow design and optimization, Lean projects)

Lean experience and/or certification is desired.

Good communication and interpersonal skills
