Summary

The Shipping/Receiving Supervisor plans, organizes and monitors the shipping of all items shipped ensuring a smooth and consistent operation so shipments are made in an effective and efficient manner as needed to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. Leads within specific department with responsibilities in quality, safety, continuous improvement, productivity, 6S and training. Provides leadership to those in the department: motivates the team, recognizes accomplishments, corrects mistakes, enforces company policies, and lives up to the WI Philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for safety, quality standards and shipping/receiving goals of the department by executing daily leader standard work. Plans and coordinates work, trains, and motivates, monitors, and evaluates performance of shipping associates: ensures their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials. Counsels, records, and disciplines as necessary. 
  • Coach, mentor and develop staff to achieve cultural and performance standards
  • Responsible for transformational activities through continuous improvement and cost reduction of the department - Scrap and rework improvements, RMA’s, OTD measurables to the production lines.
  • Responsible for training records, write and assist timely performance evaluations and assist in hiring for department

Desired Experience

  •  Strong Leadership ability 
  •  Understand and lead according to WI philosophy
  •  Good communication (verbal and written) & problem solving skills
  •  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  •  Basic financial understanding
  •  Strong knowledge of Lean tools and practices
  • 2-4 years leadership experience
