Supply Chain Production Planning Manager

Summary


The Supply Chain Production Planning Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all production and raw material plans for the West Warwick plant. This role will manage the planning team in West Warwick and will report to the Director of Supply Chain. This role will manage a team of 4-5 individuals. Scope of this role includes understanding of demand from the commercial side and alignment on customer priorities, management of raw material and finished goods inventories to support both commercial and production. The role will be responsible for the development and management of production plans and schedules for all related supply chain activities including steel, blanking operations, product line production plans, and corresponding lines that support production. 


This role will be the primary liaison between the production planning team and the purchasing team to ensure proper placement of PO’s and correct levels of RM inventories on hand to support the business needs. The Supply Chain Production Planning Manager will be the liaison between planning and plant operations teams to ensure alignment on schedules and provide visibility to supply chain issues that may impact production. Support the monthly S&OP process by providing updates on supply and production plans. Role will be primary liaison between planning and warehousing functions. Role will be the SME for MRP system and planning processes and corresponding dashboards and metrics to facilitate the planning process.

Responsibilities

  • Key point person for all planning and inventory related activities for the West Warwick plant
  • Overall responsibility for the management and development of production plans for all production lines, steel blanking, deep drawn, diaphragms and steel purchasing 
  • Alignment with Operations, Purchasing, Finance, Engineering, commercial and warehouse on plans and inventory
  • Coordinates with all key plant stakeholders on established production plans and any changes to these plans based on impacts in the supply chain (Commercial, Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, Operations, Transportation and Warehouse
  • Oversees plans and execution of established inventory targets for FG and RM’s; helps establish and maintain inventory min/max on key items (Diaphragms) 
  • Manages inventory manager on cycle counting and inventory control
  • Coordinates with Purchasing on supplier contracts and optimal inventory levels
  • Owner of all key production related data, dashboards and KPI’s that input to S&OP process 
  • SME for all planning and inventory processes and systems including MRP, Futurcast and dashboards utilized to assist with planning processes

Desired Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from four-year College or University, preferably with a focus on supply chain or related field of study; trained or experience utilizing and planning in MRP and demand planning software; experience in developing reports and KPIs 
  • Supply Chain management experience preferred (3+ years)
  • Experience managing a team or processes preferred 
  • Extensive experience with production planning, MRP and inventory management (2+ years)
  • Experience working with demand planning and data warehouse tools
  • The ability to develop strong relationships with business partners, their teams as well as other cross functional groups
  • Ability to coaches, supports and train team on processes systems tools and development
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively and positively accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Strong project management, time management and communication skills required
  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills
