Worthington Industries Oil and Gas Division currently has a growth role for an established Sales Manager/ Key Account Manager for the Midland Region.  The position will co-develop and execute sales strategies for the Anadarko & Permian Basins.  The individual will create share of wallet opportunities through voice of customer exercises, and extend our relationships within key target accounts. Position will be accountable for achieving the key metrics for growing sales and profitability as set by the Oil and Gas leadership team. Candidate must reside or relocate to the regions mentioned above.


Key Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Develop key account relationships via conducting regular (quarterly) structured meetings with relevant metrics to include: OTD, Quality, Pricing, Design, New Products, Forecast 
  • Strive to meet OGE commercial objectives via customer discovery, development and crucial conversations
  • Ensures team  aligned on goals and held accountable to those through measurable criteria (SMART Goals)
  • Achieve and exceed on sales revenue and profitability meterics
  • Creatively finds ways to increase margin opportunity annually
  • Engages team to find cost out opportunities at the customer design level
  • Collaboratively works with internal customers such as TM’s, ISR’s, Field Service, Estimators, Schedulers, Buyers, etc.  
  • Supports the collection of competitive information, market pricing, external customer strategy and planning which aids in building and supporting the committed forecast
  • Utilized key account reviews on a bimonthly bases to evaluate performance of relationships and people
  • Lead Key Performance Indicator (KPI) meetings with key account stakeholders to identify trends and analyze performance metrics.
  • Required to visit customer offices and facilities on a regular basis to deepen relationships
  • Strives to obtain significant product knowledge and finds ways to create training opportunities for team
  • Responses to customer inquiries and key internal stake holders with a sense of urgency
  • Builds cross functional team and customer trust, values others, creative problem solving, and demonstrates high integrity.
  • Instills a passion for driving deep relationships with core customers

Desired Experience

  • 5 to 10 years direct Key Account Management required
  • Proven customer relationships with E&P companies focused on the Delaware and surrounding Permian Basins
  • Experience with oil and gas wellhead production and processing equipment and or electrical components supporting hydrocarbon production hihgly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree or technical degree preferred
  • Independent decision based on good judgment
  • Advanced communications skills (Verbal and Written) 
  • Advanced organizational skills and ability to prioritize
  • Strong MS office Skills (Word, Excel and Power Point applications)
