Summary

As an RT Level II Radiographer at our Wooster, OH facility that is part Worthington's Cylinders business, you will be performing, interpreting, and documenting the results of radiographic examinations performed on-site. In this newly created role, our Radiographer will be designated as the facility’s Radiation Safety Officer, and will be responsible for establishing and implementing company radiation safety policies. The Radiographer must be capable of maintaining the radiographic (RT) nondestructive testing equipment, performing equipment calibrations, adhering to all regulatory safety requirements, and interpreting radiographs made from various welding processes according but not limited to ASME, AWS, and API Codes. The RT Level II Radiographer should be capable of being responsible for on-the-job training and guidance of trainees in the Radiographic Testing discipline.

Responsibilities

  • Establish RT examination techniques in accordance with applicable safety regulations
  • Conduct radiographic tests to confirm quality or detect discontinuities (defects)
  • Ability to perform RT examinations in compliance with company policies and regulations
  • Apply testing criteria in accordance with applicable codes or standards and evaluate results
  • Interpret radiographs
  • Organize and report test results
  • Fill out daily radiation and testing reports
  • Radiation Safety Officer for location
  • Hands-on implementation of company RT examinations and radiation safety
  • Establish and maintain the safety of RT procedures with strict adherence to regulations
  • Ability to maintain required personnel certifications applicable to company, local, state, and federal requirements
  • Set up, operate, and calibrate / validate nondestructive testing equipment
  • May perform other nondestructive test procedures according to qualifications
  • May perform specialized inspections
  • May instruct and supervise others
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned by management

Desired Experience

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Level II RT certification, current or within last six months
  • SNT-TC-1A Certification for VT, PT, MT desired, but not required
  • Documented evidence of formal training and experience
  • Current Industrial Radiography Radiation Safety Personnel (IRRSP) or applicable agreement state card.  Certification for radioactive materials (RAM) or combo required
  • Experience with safe use of isotopes and associated equipment
  • Experience managing a radiation safety program and knowledge of safety regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively perform RT examinations and make interpretations to applicable manufacturing codes
