The Welder is responsible for set-up and operation of basic welding equipment for SMAW, GMAW, and SAW. This position is responsible for making sure all work is done to the specficications per the work order and blueprint. The welder will inspect the finished product for quality completeness. A successful candidate is a self-motivated multi-tasker that utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met.


  • Safely operate GMAW, SMAW and or SAW equipment and basic power tools.
  • Inspects finished product for completeness and conformance to all quality assurance procedures. 
  • Sets up, troubleshoots and makes adjustments to welding machines as needed to maintain good production and quality.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Experience

  • Competent with GMAW, SMAW, and SAW. Must have a firm understanding of process variables and is able to adjust accordingly to comply with internal weld procedure requirements.
  • Recognizes and fixes common weld flaws, discontinuities, and defects. Self-inspects own welds and corrects errors.
  • Capability to read and interpret blueprints, work order instructions, and weld symbols.
  • Basic Math skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude required.
  • Good problem solving and troubleshooting skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
  • Must understand and follow the safety and quality policy and procedures.
  • Must be able to handle small parts.
  • Must be able to handle physical, repetitive work and be able to stand on your feet for 10 hrs a day.
  • 6 to 12 months welding experience 
  • WI basic safety training


High School Diploma or equivalent
